Transfreight AG and Håkull AS started a co-operation

Transfreight AG and Håkull AS have started a co-operation between our two companies on Swiss – Norway, for the appointed geographical area in Norway covered by Håkull AS. We are happy with this new solution and hope for a long lasting co-operation.

 

 

EuroFreight celebrates 25 years

This year EuroFreight celebrates 25 years. 

 

 

Warehouse Inauguration

 

In addition to celebrating our silver anniversary, we have last Friday inaugurated our new warehouse.

 

Spread over 1000 sqm, our new warehouse has been built to meet the demands of European traffic. Our new warehouse is strategically positioned a few hundred metres from our current warehouse, but outside Customs area.

 

This gives us the ability to operate 24x7x365 without the need to obtain permissions from third parties. As we do with other warehouses we will operate this warehouse with our own staff.

 

We are sure that with this investment we will be able to handle cargo more efficiently and so provide better services to you and your respective clients.

 

 

Corporate identity

 

After 25 years, we also thought that time is appropriate to give EuroFreight a new look.

 

In view of this, we have created a new corporate image. Yellow has been chosen as sign of freshness, together with black a sign of reliability.

 

We have added a symbolic emblem (attached) which signifies the journey of a shipment, or also the journey of our organisation.

 

When Noel founded EuroFreight, the objective was to provide freight forwarding services from Europe to Malta. This was done at a time when trade in Malta was being liberalised, with Malta being on the brink of joining the European Community.

 

With the evolvement of globalisation, EuroFreight has developed into also being a market leader with regards to freight forward from the far corners of the world. As a result, we thought it fitting to add GLOBAL CONNECTIONS as official slogan.

 

 

Company structure

 

Over the past years EuroFreight has doubled it’s activity in terms of volume and staff. The increase in the number of staff, as well as our international outlook has prompted us to reorganise our company structure so that.

Noel Chircop is now Company President,

Karen Calleja is now Chief Exectuvie Officer,

Quentin Zara is now Chief Operations Officer,

 

We remain the same people with the same roles but with added responsibilities and commitment to serve you and our staff better.

 

 

The next 25 years

 

To sustain our development EuroFreight has also embarked upon an ambitious project to digitise our activities. We are in the process of launching a new web site which will continue to be further developed. Our website will become our platform as an interface whereby customers will have easier access to on time real time information. Meanwhile we also plan upon automating parts of our activities so that we improve our performance as well ensure that our staff have more time on their hands to focus upon our partners and clients.

 

 

Conclusion

 

All these developments are keeping us very focused and busy in our objectives. In view of this we will be celebrating our 25 years internally.

 

We hope and look forward to be in a position to celebrate with you our 30 years, as we have done 5 years ago during our 20th year celebrations.

 

 

FRANSEN J. TRANSPORT transfer to Corneel Geerts Transportgroup

We are pleased to announce that FRANSEN J. TRANSPORT has finalized the last details and it will transfer all her activities to Corneel Geerts Transportgroup, from 1st of January 2024.

 

FRANSEN J. TRANSPORT is a neutral Belgian carrier specializing in the transport of goods between Benelux and Switzerland, both in transport and customs areas.

 

With this acquisition, both the transferor and the acquirer want to provide continuity for the customers and employees active within these companies.

 

The main priority is to guarantee operations, service level & neutrality.

Profit will be found in economies of scale and savings at admin & management level.

 

The name FRANSEN J. TRANSPORT as well as the activities, partners and staff will be retained, which will run completely parallel to the current activities of Corneel Geerts between Benelux and Switzerland.

 

The current location of FRANSEN J. TRANSPORT in Putte will be retained, which includes 1000m² of offices, 4000m² of warehouses, a workshop for fleet repairs and 10,000m² of parking.

 

In this way the current management of Corneel Geerts Transportgroup is committed to further expansion of the family-owned business, in addition to growing the fleet to almost 300 trailers and 135 tractor units, it can also expand their activities in Switzerland and add a new location for logistics activities to their services.

 

In addition to groupage within Europe at 6 service levels and 40,000 m² of logistics facilities in the Benelux, we will now also be able to offer customs- related activities “in house”.

Last Monday we as Corneel Geerts Transportgroup were officially awarded by minister of economy Jo Brouns at VLAIO in Brussels as certified partner to transport goods from Benelux to UK.

 

This is an achievement for all our company who made possible to transport goods from and to the UK after Brexit.

During the audit to get certified, the auditors checked all requirements if we were capable to offer all needed transport services for small and medium sized companies:

  • First / Last mile
  • Customs export / import
  • Fiscal representation
  • Regular (Daily) departures
  • Short lead times
  • Handling Transit goods
  • Having GLLP warehouses (BE & UK)
  • Document management system for customs authorities
  • Online track & Trace
  • Online POD
  • Clear offering system to avoid extra costs afterwards including all details


This is the biggest achievement we have been awarded for after the UK have been (Br)exit from Europe.
