IFA celebrates 25 years of successful partnership

The International Forwarding Association has reached its quarter of a century milestone and it`s celebrating its existence in Venice.

Munich / Venice, September, 2017 – The European logistics and transport network IFA is celebrating its 25-year anniversary with an official ceremony from 29th of September till the 1st of October in Venice. Formed in 1992 by a handful of companies, the association can look back on an impressive history of commitment and success to the logistics and transportation sector. The network has been grown to a recognised association of nearly 50 independent small-and medium-sized forwarders dedicated to delivering the best logistics solutions all over Europe. These achievements and more will be celebrated at the end of the month by all IFA members.

The association invests steadily in developing its expertise in procurement and distribution and is continuing its efforts to grow. IFA Board member Mr. Tiziano Di Domenico outlines the key success factors of the association: “Our service quality, safety and reliability are the pillars of our success. Pooling the best logistics solutions of all our partners and leveraging our joint expertise is what makes this network so powerful and valuable compared to other networks in the industry.”

The association’s current goals are to amplify the existing presence in Austria, France and the Baltic states. “In our globalized world, accessibility and geographical proximity to our partners and clients play a vital role. Developments in the transportation industry are moving rapidly forward and especially as a medium-sized company the reward of being part of the IFA is tremendous!” agrees Mr. John Verberkt, one of the founding members of the IFA.

The initial aim of the IFA network was to make use of synergy effects in the transportation industry across different countries. In times of digitalisation and industry 4.0, the association concentrates also on leveraging new technologies and jointly investing in future supply chain opportunities to maintain the competitive advantage of the association.
