Integrated transport – new guidelines in the development of the European logistic

The transport system in Europe increasingly facilitates the mobility and the transport of both people and goods. This is beneficial for the ever-growing demand for transport services due to the ever-increasing share of the trade, on one hand, and the mobility of the people in connection with a change of residence and workplace. Thus the economic development and, as a result, the creation of new jobs lead to a greater demand for services from European logistics network.

The integrated transport – with new guidelines for the freight forwarders association

The integration in transports is a fundamental principle for freight forwarders Europe. But with the development of the economy, trade and mobility this integration is developing by adding new guidelines. With these innovations is increased the efficiency of the logistic services.

The integration in the field of transport

In the European Union the share of the transport sector is significant – it employs around 8.2% of the people. More and more it is invested in research activities in this sector: the investments by enterprises in the sector in these activities are worth over 37 billion euros, which makes the transport sector with the highest investments. The researches are carried out integrated, for continuous improvement of the transport services in Europe.

Purpose of the scientific researches in the transport sector

The purpose of the researches is to achieve ever-greater integration of the transport networks in Europe:

  • single sky for effective air transport
  • single railway area
  • single maritime transport – “Blue Belt” in the European seas

Another major objective is the increase of the security in the transport services both for people and freight. Therefore, modernization of the transport infrastructures in Europe is carried out and their integration into multimodal transport network. Thus, all transport can have access to these infrastructures for faster transportation on more efficient routes.

The market based instrument with which in future will be stimulated greater ecologicity

In future is foreseen the use of energy taxation to stimulate the reduction of the consumed energy. The companies from the European network for logistics services are already working on this through multimodal transport and more rational use of the modern transport infrastructures, as well as through alternative fuels.

International freight forwarders contribute to the practical application of the research results

For achieving full benefits of the researches it is necessary to apply them in practice. This is done with the active participation of the international freight forwarders association. By taking advantage of the innovations in the transport infrastructure in Europe, they apply these new trends in their practice.

New trends that are applied in practice in the European logistics

  • a growing share of the multimodal transport for improving the speed of the transports and reduction of their prices, as well as for more ecological routes
  • more economical transports regarding the consumed energy
  • individualized transport services – to more fully meet the needs of each client
  • ecologicity of the logistic transport, to contribute to reduction of the greenhouse gas emissions
  • increasing the safety of the logistic transport
  • better access to the infrastructures in the European countries
  • better customer service through quick offers, shipments tracking in real time and delivery to door.
